A performance SUV, has the world gone mad? It's true, they are available, Porsche does them, BMW as well, not Range Rover has released their model, after a series of teasers, behold the Sport SVR, the most hard core Range Rover ever built.
A supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine is held responsible for the crazyness, which in SVR specification, develops 542 hp with torque also rising to 501 lb-ft. It needs 4.5 seconds to hit 100km.h and it tops out at an electronically limited 260 km/h top speed.
Power is being delivered through a ZF - 8 Speed transmission, available in full automatic, or manual mode operated from the paddle-shifters. The Dynamic Active Rear Locking Differential has been reconfigured, along with torque vectoring and the stability control being adjusted.
Orders will open up in October, the car will be fully revealed at Pebble Beach.
Back in 2013 we did a Speculative Render, were we close to the official product?
