After a long break, Lotus debuts with what's to become the world's most powerful production road car, Evija comes with 4 electric motors, which have a total combined power of 1973HP and 1700 Nm of torque. Sprint time would be under 3s and give it enough room it can reach an excessive speed of 320km.h

Lotus always had fresh designs, but the Evija doesn't look like anything else in their portfolio, contrary, it expresses a modern design with buldging front fenders, a slope-ish rear window, which leads to an active rear spoiler and F1 inspired DRS. Single line LED tail lights were inspired by afterburners found in fighter jets.

Inside, there's a futuristing air, with naked carbon fiber accents, a floating wing dashboard and in interesting looking center console. Seats are made of alcantara and carbon fiber shells.

The car features ultra-lightweight carbon fiber construction, the monocoque is a one-piece design ( which is a first for Lotus ) and weights about 129kg. Lotus also says that the car can deliver “optimum blend of extreme track performance and on-road comfort.”

People know that electric cars aren't ideal for track usage, but Lotus assures us that the car has been equipped with 4 radiators to keep the temperature within optimum range, the result? Car can be used for at least 7 minutes on Track mode ( just enough for a Nurburgring lap, perhaps? ).

Production is limited to 130 units, Lotus takes preorders for $310.000 deposit, final price is expected around $2.1mil, with deliveries of the first units to start next year.
