During the New York Auto Show, Genesis were among the first to reveal a concept, called Essentia, which comes dressed as a 2-door GT car and it's here to show the company's upcoming design language. Genesis nicely wrapped the concept into a carbon fiber construction and gave it a full electric powertrain.

Right, design, the Essentia doesn't have anything in common with the previous models, it's actually a bold design, the most recognizable element might be the "crest grille" which is an evolution from what you can see on models like Q70 or Q80. Other signature elements include the quad-lights, so probably the future models might feature them in a more toned way.

Concepts are usually eye candy and the Essentia doesn't spoil, there's a see-through hood, allowing the viewer to take a glimpse to their fancy push-rod suspension, a sloping glass roof with visible carbon fiber mounts. Did we speak about the doors? They're presented as butterfly doors, with a face and finger print recognition system. Another element we're very fond of, is the wheel design, a complex display, which showcases a rotational design, with futuristic designed connecting spokes, all finished in a superb bronze, did we mention we love the centerlock?

Moving inside, we're greeted by a minimalistic design, featuring lots of bespoke elements, starting with the steering wheels and the special 3D designed leather upholstery. The display cluster measures 8 inch and we have a glipse of performance, a range of 373km and a top speed of 278km.h. Genesis also said that the car is being able to sprint to 100km.h in about 3s. Alongside the main cluster, the dashboard is made of a super wide screen and above, there's a digital rear view mirror.
