Mark Webber is the winner of the 2012 FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX.
Fantastic race this year at Silverstone track, race started with so much overtaking and maneuvering that it was actually very difficult to track all of them. Strong start for both Fernando Alonso on P1 and Mark Webber on P2. Different strategies though, which in the end showed that Red Bull was a tad better today in planning tactics. Fernando started on hard compound, in the pits he choose another set of hard compound tires which meant that his last set of tires must be a softer compound - bad decision as it seems. Performance of the soft tires dropped significantly near the very end of the race which meant only one thing for the Mark on 2nd place riding hard on primes - chance for P1.
Sebastian Vettel finished on 3rd place. After not such a great start, he lost a couple of places, but with the good driving and a little help of his mates in the pits he managed to drive it safely to a 3rd place. 4th place for Felipe Massa in Ferrari and yet his best place of the season. Everything worked well for him, and with great driving he managed to keep his position before Kimi Raikkonen in Lotus after a great fight few laps before the end of the race.
Amazing driving, and maybe the best driving today showed by young Frenchman in Lotus - Romain Grosjean. Although he finished only 6th, it's actually excellent position when considering he had a small crash in the first lap, which downgraded him to a 22nd place. Many overtaking, fast pit stops and amazing fights with Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher - real pleasure to watch.
Michael Schumacher overtook Lewis Hamilton for P7 just a few laps before end of the race. They both had big problems with the tires and only their great driving saved them from dropping even more. Bruno Senna and Jenson Button were the last of the ten fastest.
