
The newest 3 Series model from BMW tuned by BMW Performance division was shown to the public for the first time in South Africa few days ago.
The new 335i race car will feature improved parts like new engine management system, exhaust system and turbocharger. Stripped and equipped for the racing regulations, 335i weights only 1,360kg. For the stopping power there are 370mm M-performance front disk brakes and for better traction car is equipped with 18-inch BBS wheels.
Under the hood there is the same 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine with the standard internal parts controlled by MoTeC engine control unit. Engine produces 408hp with 600Nm of torque.
Production of this car costs around $260,000. Build by ADF Motorsport, it will be used to compete in Wesbank Super Series race meeting, at Killarney in Cape Town on 31 March 2012 and then at the 2012 Nurburgring 24-hour race later this year.
