2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8

What is it? It's America's mid-engine sports car, a sports car made to be affordable. You read that right, a mid-engined Corvette, this is what the C8 is. It wasn't a secret, the Chevy's idea was out in the open for a while now and they finally took the wraps off.

With a borrowed design from the C7, with more aggressive touch-ups, the car expresses an angular design language. Overall look is sporty and aerodynamic, with the cockpit well positioned in the middle to make room for the V8 in the back. What's surprising is that the car comes with a removable roof, which is a great touch.

Interior hasn't been left out, it looks premium with leather well sculpted seats, 2 spoke cutout steering wheel and a 12" digital instrument cluster. All the leather is being complemented by carbon fiber and aluminium trims, the new owners will be also greeted by a BOSE sound system.

The engine is a new unit, which also resides in a new location, in the back of the green house. Engine is a 6.2-liter LT2 V8 that produces 490hp and 630 NM of torque and there's also an optional Z51 Performance Package that pushes the ponies to 495HP and 637Nm of torque.

Tranny options are limited to one, an 8-speed dual clutch automatic unit which is linked to the rear wheels. Performance figures were scarce, but the Z51 can take less than 3s to reach 100km.h.

Production starts towards the end of the year and the price is commented to be starting under $60.000.
