Buckle up fellas, because the famous factory from Maranello made us an early Christmas present, they made the FXX official.
It's called FXX K, based on the LaFerrari model, but other than the shape and some parts of the engine unit, the "rocket" has nothing to do with it.
"K" moniker doesn't come from "kaboom", instead it's coming from Ferrari's hybrid technologi, called KERS. The car is so exclusive it won't be part of any competition, instead, it will be shared with a group of exclusive customers which will test it in future events.
We mentioned the engine has something in common with LaFerrari, it's true, it's the same 6.2L V12 unit, but it features new camshafts and a modified valve train with mechanical rather than hydraulic tappets. The intake manifolds have been redesigned and given a special type of polishing treatment. The exhaust system has been also modified as its silencers have been eliminated. The FXX K develops a maximum output of 1050 HP thanks to the combustion engine ( 860 HP) and 190 HP from the electric motor. The combined torque is more than 900 Nm.
Design wise, the car has suffered several changes, with added components like a double profile lip-kit, which generate air towards the sides, new sideskirts and around the back, the diffuser has been enlarged, featuring a more aggressive design. The upper part, ends with a double wing spoiler on each side.
All the power goes down via special made Pirelli tires, which calculate longitudinal, lateral and radial acceleration, as well as temperature and pressure.
