2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28

The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 has been on the radar for quite some time and I think we can all agree that it is a beast. Designed specifically for the track, this car is a racing monster!

The heart of the Camaro Z/28 is powered by a whopping 7.0-liter V8 engine, producing 505 BHP (376 kW) and 481 lb/ft (652 nM) of pure torque. Add a six-speed manual transmission to that and you have yourself a mean racing car. In addition, Chevrolet has decided to strip a whole bunch of weight from the car. They swapped for a smaller sized battery, much lighter rear seats, and a thinner sheet of glass for the rear window. The things they removed include the sound deadening material, tire inflation kit, and the mighty air conditioning system. Although the A/C can be bought as an extra option, who needs air conditioning in a track car?

The exterior of the Z/28 is much similar to the regular Camaro, but sports an aerodynamic body kit. This includes a front and side lip, along with a sportier rear diffuser. You can also find a four-tailpipe exhaust on the Z/28 opposed to the two on the stock Camaro. The whole car sits on 19-inch forged aluminum wheels with Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires.

The interior is fitted with an Octane matte trim and leather Recaro sport seats with microfiber inserts. In addition, a Performance Traction Management system has been placed, allowing drivers to fully adjust the levels of throttle and braking. The Z/28 also includes a sport-tuned suspension, Brembo carbon ceramic matrix brake rotors, and a limited-slip differntial.

The whole package does seem great, but the price is a bargain. The 2014 Camaro Z/28 edition will cost you $75,000 including a $995 destination charge in the United States. The price is definitely steep, but the car might well be worth the money.
