Dodge Dart, the first Dodge model built on Fiat architecture, result of their partnership. To be more precise, Dart will share Alfa Romeo Giulietta's platform. So what is it? The Dodge Dart will "swim" in the compact sedan class, which means it's a direct competitor to Ford Focus and Chevrolet saloons, as it replaces the Caliber model.
Since it's been announced for the US market only, for now, there will be three gasoline engines available, two of them will be natural aspired, 2.0L and 2.4L, rated at 160 and 184 HP, respectively a turbocharged unit, of 1.4L, coming off 500 Abarth, which will develop 160 HP. Engines will be attached to an automatic 6-speed dual-clutch transmission and in 2013 they will introduce a 6-speed manual tranny as well as a 9-speed transmission, which ZF Group have under development.
More details of this model will be available once Detroit Motor Show starts.
