2016 Honda Civic TypeR

2016 Honda Civic TypeRAfter all the teasing, spies, more teasing and more spies, the real deal is here, here is the new Civic TypeR and it comes with a pompous name "a race car for the road".

Exterior wise, Honda really went all in, it features a wide-body aerodynamic kit, with large flares, large front air intakes and generous bumper splitter. Along the back, there's an aggressive diffuser, 4 round tail pipes and a devilish looking spoiler - which unfortunately, didn't house the concept LED tails.

This doesn't look like a concept to us and we hope the production model, which will arrive later this year, will look the same.

The car is painted in a funky color named Bright Highways Grey, doubled with red accents. We can spot aggressive styling along the bodywork, there's also a boot spoiler and the car sits on 18" alloys - a true hot-hatchback.

Although tech specs weren't revealed, we expect a 2.0L gasoline unit, which develops around 220HP.

Latest Leon Cupra model break cover, with it's 265HP or 280HP for the Cupra 280, it is the most powerful road going car Seat has ever done.

The car is capable of doing 0-100km.h sprint in 5.7s, thanks to a torque of 350NM, equipped with the DSG transmission and 0.1s slower with the manual transmission.
